· On January 18, Ed Arista spoke on "Choice of Business Entity" at the Florida Bar Mid-year meeting in Miami.
· J. Ulises Herran and his team of distinguished family law attorneys have joined us as our new Family Law practice group. Their focus is on complex divorce and custody matters, as well as pre and post marital planning in collaboration with our wealth preservation lawyers. The primary goal of these attorneys, as with any of the firm’s litigators, is to find creative solutions for resolving disputes before they erupt into protracted litigation. When an amicable resolution is not possible, they are equipped to zealously pursue any and all remedies available under the law.
· In recognition of Mr. Herran’s past contributions and continuing relationship with the firm, we are changing the firm’s name to Arista & Herran. We are confident our expanded team is now even better equipped to provide comprehensive counsel to our private clients regarding preserving their wealth.
· The firm also welcomes Michelle Diaz as an associate practicing in the areas of tax, business and estate planning. Ms. Diaz is a recent graduate of the St. Thomas University School of Law and previously worked as a commercial paralegal at the Miami office of a national law firm.
· On February 23, Ed Arista spoke on “Asset Protection and Liability Minimization for Business Owners” at the South Miami/Kendall Bar Association February meeting.
· Ed Arista's article "From a Caterpillar to a Butterfly - Converting Corporations to LLCs" was recently published in the Cuban American Bar Association Newsletter.
· Christina Fiallo, administrative assistant and member of the University of Miami (UM) Ethics Society Debate Team, recently won the National Ethics Bowl in Cincinnati beating 32 other schools.
· Ed Arista was featured in the Florida International University (FIU) Entrepreneurship Center alumni entrepreneurship awareness campaign.
· Ed Arista was invited to teach Legal Environments of Real Estate in the FIU Master of Science in International Real Estate program. |
