· Ulises Herran is leaving the private practice of law to pursue regular employment with the U.S. State Department as a contract Spanish interpreter. As such, Arista & Herran, P.L. is winding down effective December 31, 2009. All active client matters being supervised by Mr. Herran and not closed by then are being transferred to J. Ulises Herran, P.A. and will be seen to completion by Mr. Herran. Mr. Herran may be reached at Ulises@HerranLaw.com or 786-423-2508. Mr. Arista's practice will resume through Eduardo R. Arista, P.A., d/b/a Arista Law and remains focused on business, tax and wealth preservation planning. Mr. Arista is joined by Reinaldo Castellanos and Robert Hanreck as of counsel to the firm practicing in the areas of real property and commercial litigation, respectively.
· Ed Arista lectured on Asset Protection for Distressed Property Owners for the Realtors Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.
· Ed Arista's article on Ten Common Asset Protection Maneuvers was published in the Dade County Bar Association's April 2009 Bulletin.
· Aleida Ortega, one of our administrative assistants, was elected President of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Chapter at Florida
International University.
· Ed Arista recently spoke on Asset Protection for Business Owners at a continuing education seminar for the Florida Institute of CPAs.
